The 2017 golden globes were filled with star power. While the rest of the world may have been paying attention to the fashions, as were we, we also could not get enough of the fab hairstyles. Here are a few of the hair looks we were loving from our faves.
Issa Rae the writer, creator and star of Insecure rocked a gorgeous rope twist updo as she attended the Golden Globes for the first time this year. The multi-talented Issa didn’t go home with an award but she definitely was a winner in our book with this fab hair style, makeup look and gorgeous dress. We look forward to tuning into next season of insecure and we know many awards are in this starlets future.
One of our absolute faves, Kerry Washington may have been rudely branded one of the worst dressed of the night by E, but we definitely feel she was a hair “do”. We loved Washington’s cute sleek straight hair look with subtle soft honey blonde highlights. We can’t wait to see what fashions and hairstyles miss Olivia Pope rocks on the next season of Scandal.
Tracee Ellis Ross
Tracee Ellis Ross won her first Golden Globe for best actress in a tv comedy for her role as Dr. Rainbow Johnson in Black-ish. Ross became the first African American woman to win an award in this category since 1983 when Debbie Allen won. In addition to her fabulous dress and jewelry, we loved her simple yet chic very Sade-esque ponytail to the back with cascading curls.
Singer and actress Janelle Monae rocked her signature black and white look with a twist. Monae stole the show with her gorgeous Armani Prive gown and pearl accentuated hair. We loved the pearl details added to her natural updo. This look definitely fit her stellar performance in the nominated film, Hidden Figures.
Yvette Nicole Brown
Actress Yvette Nicole Brown showed off her new fabulous figure in a stunning shimmery gown. After being diagnosed with diabetes Brown made some series health decisions and slimmed down and toned up. The star of the NBC comedy series Community looked dazzling with her gorgeous curls pinned to one side.
Who do you think rocked the best red carpet hairstyle?
